About Me......and Molly!

Hello!

My name is Nicola, and before designing and making jewellery, I worked as an Optometrist in Dorset for 30 years. Just before Covid hit, I felt the needed of a career change and to 'get out more' and explore my creative side again. I had developed an enthusiasm (some call it an obsession) for working with silver ever since I attended my first silver clay workshop 6 years previously. It reminded me of my ceramic classes in school but on a smaller and more detailed scale. I therefore decided to follow my obsession and Molly and Me Jewellery came about.

Experimenting with new designs and techniques using silver clay has become a passion for me. I love spending time thinking of ways to create unique shapes, forms and textures. I mainly take my inspiration from nature, getting a lot of my ideas whilst out walking Molly. I often find myself taking lots of photos and filling my pockets with leaves, berries, acorns, shells, lichen, grasses and flowers ready to mould, press and use when I get home.

Molly is my 6yr old Jack Russell, she is not just a pet but also a cherished member of my family.  She is my constant companion, providing support and inspiration. Molly absolutely adores long walks in the Dorset countryside, by the sea and in the New Forest. She is a very friendly, enthusiastic dog and enjoys going away in our motorhome and playing 'fetch and tug 'o' war.  While I work, she lies next to me on her bed and keeps one eye firmly fixed on what I’m doing, ready to spring into action as soon as I inasmuch as look at her lead!

I pour my passion for nature into every piece of jewellery I create; the result is high-quality, eco-conscious exquisite jewellery that stands out for its uniqueness and originality, with the aim of making the wearer feel equally unique and special but with a nod to sustainability .
